Important to leave no loopholes.
When a Ban on the Hunting & Killing of Hare, Deer & Fox is finally introduced here in Northern Ireland, it will be very important to ensure that there are no loopholes left in the Law, which might allow Trail Hunters to simply carry on hunting our mammals with their packs of Dogs.
Scotland, made the mistake of allowing Trail Hunting to continue, when it first banned hunting with dogs, back in 2002, but the law was so badly abused by the hunting fraternity that they had to introduce a new law to stop the abuse. Thankfully, the 'Hunting with Dogs (Scotland) Act 2023' finally ended the 'sport' of Fox Hunting in Scotland, for good. The key changes being a two-dog limit for flushing mammals and the prohibition of trail hunting.
